International Media Production Zone (IMPZ) is a free zone and freehold area that caters to media production companies and was launched in 2003. IMPZ is spread over an area of 43 million square feet and is located on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road at the end of Al Khail Road. IMPZ is a new, developing community with great accessibility to some of the major areas of Dubai. It consist of medium-rise buildings, offering relatively affordable apartments in IMPZ. IMPZ is located 30 kilometres from Dubai International Airport and 25 kilometres from Jebel Ali Port. While it might be difficult to catch a taxi in IMPZ, they can be ordered by phone. There are plans to convert this area into the next generation of Dubai Media City.
As Dubai’s real estate market is witnessing a shift in expatriate housing preferences towards more affordable areas - especially for those no longer able to afford apartments in the city’s central districts - IMPZ is a community that is best suitable for families or young professionals who work around Dubai’s free zones. Respecting and completing the city infrastructure, IMPZ has prepared residential and commercial facilities that were many including household residences and affordable apartments for employees. The area is popular amongst people working along Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, Jabel Ali, and Dubai Media City.
What makes IMPZ an area to seriously considering when look for apartments to rent in Dubai is that it offers 1 bedroom apartments in IMPZat a very affordable level for the mid-income residents, in addition to its convenient location, and fast-moving development. Since it’s opening, IMPZ has been ranking high on affordable housing charts. The area is still under construction, but the number of available units is increasing regularly. For expats on a tight budget looking for an affordable house, which also offers them the necessary services, International Media Production Zone is definitely worth keeping an eye on.
Supermarkets, health and fun and services like banking are available in the area. City Centre Me’aeisem opened last month, which was considered a big step towards the fast development of the IMPZ community. But in addition to the many shops in the area, residents can simply drive to the neighboring Sports City or JVT, or order from the many restaurants that deliver to IMPZ. There are plenty of mini-marts and grocery stores, and a number of green areas for children to play.
