Busy work environment coupled with lively leisure scene make Dubai Media City a draw
Dubai Media City is one of the city’s most well-established residential, work and leisure free zones. Since its inception in 2001, Dubai Media City has attracted thousands global brands, providing them with free zone incentives such as 100% company ownership. The result has been that the area has blossomed, with retail and food and beverage outlets also setting up in the zone to cater to the thousands of professionals who attend work every day. The area is a true city within a city, catering to the needs of both residents and visitors. It’s home to numerous hotels – including the Media One, Tamani, Radisson Blu, and the Arjaan by Rotana – offering meeting space, leisure facilities, cafes and restaurants.
Media City’s towers are an iconic landmark on Dubai’s map, ideally situated near the Dubai Marina, the Arabian Gulf beachfront, the Palm Jumeirah and linked to the rest of the city by Sheikh Zayed Road. This link provides easy access to Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta Mall, Dubai Marina Mall and Downtown Dubai. Media City’s neighbours include Knowledge Village (the educational zone) and Dubai Internet City.
Although Dubai Media City quietens after its employees leave for the day, the lull is short lived as the area’s night spots wake up. Its location makes it a popular choice for both leisure and work entertaining, and its towers offer a plethora of café, restaurant and bars. The City is comprised of more than 84 towers, some of which touch the sky at over 50 storeys. Due to its composition, the accommodation on offer is mainly apartments in Media City – ranging from studios to four bedroom properties. Residential towers usually offer 24-hour security, swimming pools, gym facilities and parking as standard. However, there are a handful of villas in Dubai Media City, offering gated seclusion and properties with open living spaces and up to four bedrooms.
Dubai Media City’s central point is its green, landscaped Amphitheatre, which plays host to numerous events year-round, including food festivals, music events and concerts. Its central lake adjacent to the Amphitheatre is also a popular place for walks, with benches overlooking the picturesque scenery. Its facilities and size mean it has also been used for headline events, such as the Dubai Marathon (start and finish location).
